Template for businesses

Adoption Toolkit for the Power Platform.

Product language: German. An English edition is planned.

Take Power Automate and Power Apps company-wide: an Excel workbook that plans, assesses, and measures, four Word templates from strategy to text templates, a kickoff presentation, and a handbook that explains every step. This way, individual experts become a community, and you use measurements to demonstrate what the rollout achieves.

  • 34-page handbook
  • 7 files

01When the toolkit pays off

Licenses alone don't create broad adoption.

Power Automate and Power Apps are licensed in many companies, but only a few people use them. The toolkit gives you a method and ready-made templates so that the rollout succeeds and becomes measurable.

  • Individual experts are already building flows and apps, but there is no plan for broad adoption.
  • The rollout has started, but the enthusiasm fizzled out after the kickoff.
  • Management asks what it achieves, and there are no reliable figures.
  • You want to find champions in the business units and don't know how to start.

Seven files, one consistent method.

You receive a ZIP package with all files, ready to use and with a neutral design so that you can share the templates as your own documents.

03How it works

In seven steps to adoption people put into practice.

From the starting point to the report to management. The workbook automatically calculates dates, coverage, progress, and goal achievement.

  1. Clarify the starting point

Fill in the fact sheet, assess maturity in six areas, and record all stakeholders and their positions.

  2. Define strategy and goals

Agree on vision, objectives, and key results, choose metrics, and measure the baseline values before starting.

  3. Launch with management

Management presents the initiative at the kickoff, and the announcement reaches all employees.

  4. Recruit champions

Invite suitable people, agree on the role with the manager and champion, and nurture the network.

  5. Enable

Define learning modules per target group, support new makers, and offer regular office hours.

  6. Collect and implement ideas

Collect ideas in a workshop, assess them by benefit and feasibility, implement the best ones, and build momentum with a hackathon.

  7. Measure, report, and adjust

Follow the measurement plan, demonstrate the benefits, report, and adjust the strategy.

05A look inside

Assess ideas instead of guessing.

Each idea is assessed against five benefit criteria and five feasibility criteria, with 0 to 3 points for each criterion. The workbook assigns it to a quadrant, suggests who should build it, and creates a ranking.

N

Benefit

  1. Saves time: the solution is expected to save noticeable time compared with today's process. Frequency and minutes per transaction are justified.
  2. Fewer errors: the solution avoids specific errors that arise today from retyping, searching, or forgetting.
  3. Many benefit: several people or business units benefit from it.
  4. Less risk: requirements for evidence, deadlines, or other requirements are met more reliably.
  5. Fits the goals: the idea contributes to the agreed goals.
M

Feasibility

  1. Data is available digitally: the required data is already in Microsoft 365 or an accessible system.
  2. Process is clear: the process is known, described, and has few exceptions.
  3. Licenses and connectors clarified: IT has confirmed that the required connectors, features, and usage rights are available. Premium connectors and Dataverse require premium licensing rights.
  4. Manageable: few steps, few participants, and no integration with complex systems.
  5. Knowledge and time available: someone in the business unit has the knowledge and time, with help from a champion if needed.

09Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

What distinguishes the toolkit from the free guide?
The guide "Microsoft Power Platform Adoption" explains what needs to be done in three phases and 18 steps. The toolkit turns this into a work plan: a workbook that plans, assesses, and measures, templates for strategy, champions, communication, and events, a kickoff presentation, and a handbook.
Which Power Platform products is the toolkit intended for?
For Power Automate and Power Apps. Many building blocks can be transferred to other products, but the metrics and learning modules are geared to these two.
What company size is it suitable for?
For any size. Each building block works in a lean version with one responsible person and in an expanded version with a core team and champions in every area.
Do I need permissions in the Power Platform admin center?
For the usage metrics, yes; according to Microsoft, the Usage page requires the Power Platform Administrator role. Without these permissions, you work with surveys, attendance lists, measured times, and the workbook sheets.
Does the toolkit contain rules for makers, environments, or data policies?
No. The toolkit covers the people side of the rollout and assumes that rules for makers are in place. Where a template needs a rule, there is a placeholder for your governance document.
Which programs do I need?
Microsoft Excel 2016 or later or Microsoft 365 (Windows or macOS) or Excel for the web, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 2016 or later or Microsoft 365, and a program for reading PDF files. The workbook sheets are protected without a password so that formulas are not accidentally overwritten.
How do I receive the files and an invoice?
You buy through my sales partner Digistore24 (Digistore24 GmbH, Hildesheim, Germany). Digistore24 is your contractual partner for the purchase, receives the payment, and sends you the invoice by email. The VAT treatment depends on your company's registered office and the details provided during checkout. Immediately after payment, you receive the link to download the ZIP package. It is valid for 30 days and allows up to 10 downloads, so please save the files right after your purchase. For questions about payment and invoices, Digistore24 support will help; for questions about the content, I will.
How up to date is the content?
All information has been checked against Microsoft's documentation (as of November 2026). Microsoft continuously develops the Power Platform. The version and date are shown on the cover page of the handbook.
